Day 1 - Monday: Depart to Greece. Day 2 - Tuesday: Arrive Athens - Thessaloniki. Stay where the inhabitants "sounded out the word of the Lord". Day 3 - Wednesday: Amphipolis - Kavala - Philippi. Mark the footsteps of St. Paul by pausing at the 4th century BC Lion Statue prominent on his travel path. See his gateway to Europe, marked by a Greek Orthodox Church. Visit where Paul experienced his first imprisonment in a crypt; sang hymns to the prison jailer before the earthquake set him free; arrived on mainland Europe in response to a vision; first preached the Gospel in Europe; and baptized his first believer. Sung Mass at the chapel will be celebrated.
Day 4 - Thursday: Thessaloniki. View Roman excavations and tour the ancient capital of Macedonia including the Church of St. Paul, and the crypt from which St. Paul preached, along with the cave and well. See also the House of Jason where Paul stayed. Informal singing at various sacred sites.
Day 5 - Friday: Central Greece - Pella - Berea - Vergina - Kalambaka. In the birthplace of Alexander the Great, visit the House of Lion Hunt. In biblical Berea, see St. Paul Steps commemorating the Apostle's willing audience and the Ayios Christos Church, marking the growth of the Gospel. Day 6 - Saturday: Meteora Monasteries. See the fascinating "Monasteries Hanging in the Air". Day 7 - Sunday: Delphi. Visit the extensive archeological site on Mount Pamassos associated with the "Oracle". Visit the Sanctuary of Apollo and explore the Museum. Ferry to Patras. Sung Sunday Mass at St. Andrew Church.
Day 8 - Monday: Corinth - Cenchreae - Athens. In Corinth, the Apostle arrived A.D.50-51 to preach the Christian faith and wrote the first of his epistles. Prayer service/informal singing among the ruins of the ancient temple where the Apostle preached. In Cenchreae, St. Paul took a vow and departed from the old harbour for Ephesus. Day 9 - Tuesday: Athens. Tour the capital city visiting the Roman Market, temples and the ancient Agora. Walk across Maris Hill where Paul addressed the philosophers of Areopagus. See St. Paul's Well and the Acropolis. Leisure time. Optional concert performance. Day 10 - Wednesday: Return from Athens.
